Budget and Finance Director to retire

The Director of Budget and Finance for the town, Mr. Ed Iacaponi, has tendered his resignation effective January 4, 2010. Mr. Iacaponi has served over the past several months as Interim Executive Administrator as well. I want to thank Mr. Iacaponi for his long and capable service to the town. He will be missed.
Ed told me that his wife has been retired for several years now and he is "not going to miss the evening meetings" with various town boards. No reflection on those who serve on the boards, just the timing.
Ed tells me he is not going anywhere and can be available part time ...

...if needed to help in transitioning to a new employee. He also said, that a bond issue due to be floated in February, might be an area that he could give some guidance.
Once again, thanks Ed for your service and contribution to Dartmouth for these many years.

I feel as though I have gotten to know Ed a lot more since he took over the EA position. He has done an outstanding job and we are so very lucky to have him! Good Luck Ed!

  5. Ed stepped up and no NO additional monies stepped into the AE job. That is a man of character. I hope the town will do something nice for him and his hard work.

  6. The turbine issue is very odd, my neighbor received a notice from the town because they are an abutter, yet I am an abutter to the same town owned property received no notice. I am able to see the turbines when they are built (I even saw the balloon from my house) yet no notice to attend the hearing...odd..

  7. So pick up the phone and call town hall. Why complain here? Oh yea that's what you do on this blog complain to cast doubt on a worthwhile project or against someone you don't like. If you really have a concern let them know in town hall that you are an abbutter and you weren't notified and would like to be.

  10. I agree with anon 9:25a, this post is about the finance director not wind turbines. Pick up the phone and call Mr. DiPippo or town hall.

  11. We thought it was odd that ED did not know anything about the wind turbines either!
I asked Ed when he was at the gym the other day about the turbines.

Ed said he should know about the turbines but that he didn't.

He new about as much as the people that live around the site !

  12. It is a gross misrepresentation to say that the wind turbine project has not been publicized or that Ed Iacaponi doesn't know about it. There have been presentations at the Select Board and Town Meeting, public hearings, newspaper articles, and many open public meetings regarding this proposal. If you didn't know about them, you have not paying attention.
Frank1 is an opponent of the installation of these turbines and has every right to do so. But the debate should focus on the merits and drawbacks of this project and not upon manufactured issues. Information on the project is available at the town website at this link on the front page of that site. There was a proposed Town Meeting article which I posted about here that had a bond of $9.5 million to buy and install the turbines.

  13. There was a news story in the Standard Times the other day that said there were people from Chase Road unaware of the turbine project Yes or No ? Did they notify all the abutters? If not why ?

frank1, do you even know who Ed is?
You never ran into him at the gym the other day, nor did he ever say that he should know about the turbines but that he didn't.
He knows plenty about the turbines if you care to ask him. Please get your facts straight and stop spreading misinformation.
Do you care to identify yourself as I have? I'd love to have Ed be able to defend himself to you and evrybody else who reads this blog! Enough is enough!
