The Fall River Times Herald had an article about amendments offered to the budget that would deny state money to the new public law school at UMass Dartmouth and that would deny state scholarships to private law schools.

If that amendment makes it into the state budget, the Governor should veto the whole thing. This is nuts.
I see Mike Watson, who proclaims to be a proponent of the purest forms of democracy, doesn't want the volunteers on the fincom to hold hearings regarding anything to do with planning and zoning. Aren't the more well informed citizens that weigh in on these things the better? Whatever policy that is set has an effect on finances. I'm sure Mike and his commercial development backers don't want to admit this but development policies affect infrastructure which affects town finances. It sure seemed to me that Watson is hell bent on shutting down the voices of certain people on fincom. A pure power play on Watson's part tonight. Mike, can you respond to this in less than 10,000 words? What do you want the fincom to shut up about?
