Hotel California?

Or is it Dartmouth Town Hall?

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door...

...I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
relax, said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
But you can never leave!

Some Select Board members say it was the intention of the former board to give contracts for life to everyone working for the town ? I think that's a bad idea. I'm such an idealist!

Why not have fun?
YouTube embeds in my blog. Wow! I like it!

Hotel California..that was a huge laugh !!! Bill, Although I dont always agree with you, I stand by you on the Town Admin situation. Now that more information is coming out, the more I understand why things were done. As Mr Michaud said, we (the taxpayers) are your boss, so keep us informed, be honest. For a longtime very few looked out for "our" interests, but that seems to be changing. Keep up the good work in 2009. We will be watching and paying attention.

I watched last night as Nat Dias told the public how she wanted to 'protect' town employees. What about town residents, Nat? Mr. Gagne was the boss to several of those employees. Why would he put contract language like that into contracts for people who worked for him? I think it's all about friends, buddies, lets' all stick together. You take care of me and I'll take care of you. Nat said they were going to put the clauses in EVERY contract as they came up. Oh, except for the ones that were done way ahead of time, huh Nat? I smell a rat! We need to get to the bottom of this. Even our atty. at the time was kept in the dark. Why? So, Doris C. contract was done first in Boston (taxpayers paid). Who wrote the other contracts?? Oh Doris? Who are the two SB members who directed this unethical nightmare for Dartmouth? Answers...Dartmouth deserves answers!

Yea, Hotel California! Come to Dartmouth and you never leave. What a deal! The taxpayers remain in the dark...except that Ms. Gilbert was smart enough to know this was not done on the up and up. The residents of Dartmouth have her to thank for bringing this to light. Our trust has been broken. I will not vote for Nat Dias or Bob Carney again. They work for town employees, NOT town residents!

i hope you represent a tiny minority in Dartmouth, because i am truly disgusted with the pure self interest that is displayed on this blog.

Self interest??? I guess keeping the public informed is considered self interest.

Bill, I love the UTube additions especially John Lennon. All he ever wanted was to stop wars and promote peace. He was under constant surveillance by the FBI & CIA because he was considered a threat to national security. It's really quite strange how some people view the world. Anonymous 6:33 is a perfect example.

It amazes me how some people look at this Dartmouth situation.
Michael Gagne approves never ending contracts that he was aware were not in the best interest of the town (also, gets one for himself) and may be against the town charter and MGL. When asked about this (for 2 plus years) Gagne dodges the issue.
Nat Dias claims that ALL (Dah??) town contracts were going to be given the 'never ending clauses' when they came due. Except that Mr. Gagne's contract was not due for 28 months when the 'clause' was inserted. What a deal!

John Lennon?! You've got to be kidding me Bill. To paraprhase, I knew John Lennon Bill and you're no John Lennon. To further paraphrase, Pride Goeth Before a Fall.

I find it less and less amusing and more and more alarming when I read comments like Anon 6:33's. I don't know if they are just missing the point or are being slanderous. To say that Bill and Joe are in this for anything other than the interests of the town seems preposterous to me. Am I the one missing something?

Yes, now let me get this straight. Doris C goes to Boston(doesn't tell Hannon or Savastano about the red flag from Burtulis)and gets her nice little contract(at the expense of the taxpayers)and comes back to town and then puts the same language into several other contracts (at the expense of the taxpayers) which may be against our town charter and MGL. Our own E.A. got one of these golden lifetime contracts, and you want to know who is looking out for the taxpayers???? I hope we get to the bottom of this mess soon. Thank you Diane, Bill and Joe!

To anon. 6:47,

Yes!!! Is not that the purpose of posting?

Not in the least! A noble and gallant task!

Huh?? A very small bit of name calling? Parasites have something to gain from their host.

Bringing to light the personal agendas of public officials that act contrary to proper ethical practices, exposing nepotism, corruption, special interests and fraud are as American as some who want to wrap their campaign around "We The People".

That's right bringing it back old school style in this bitch,

"WE THE PEOPLE"

Sure beats the heck out of a dictatorship now don't it.
El Commandente Michaud, has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

We the people voted for the select board.

We the people
know town meeting is full of special interest.

We the people
watched as T.M. approved way more CPC spending than they get in revenue.

We the people
will be watching on Jan. 8th

We the people
know this recall attempt will fail at a general election.

We the people
will demand a charter reform commission to get rid of T M if this article passes.

We the people
won't stand for special interests trying to invalidate our election results.

Special interest, anyone who doesn't see things your way, right?? Sounds like we the people alright. As for CPC spending go ask Diane for your money back. Nah wouldn't do that now would you, need her right now, right? You guys are funny.

There have been 37% of all town meeting members identified as either working for the town or directly related. That's just what could be easily identified. There are most likely more. Considering that 1/3 of T M Members generally don't show up, I would consider that loaded with special interest. Wouldn't you?

What's funny is how the guy who specializes in gutter politics and personal attacks (we all know it's Saul Raposo)wants to make the Aikin House an issue as Gilbert's pet project but has no problem with the Pasky canoe launch site being Carney's pet project.

Gutter Politics and Personnel attacks that's the pot calling the kettle black now isn't it. You guys are funny..
