The library will have a murder mystery dinner theater tonight. I will be playing the part of Sir Arthur Conan Hoyle in the production. The place is Southworth Library, time 6:30 PM. Tickets are $30 and available at the door. See you there?
My only previous acting experience was in the 8th grade production of Lil' Abner in which I had one line as the "government man" I still remember it, I think. "Well madame, we certainly wouldn't bomb any community that made a necessary contribution to society" Missed my cue to go on stage and everyone stood around until I could be shoved out there. Break a leg!

You are such a card!!!!
Bill did an excellent job in rehearsal. Come see us tonight at 6:30, Southworth Library. It's a fundraiser for the Dartmouth Library Foundation. You can get tickets at the door if you don;t already have them. By the way, I play "Hemlock Bones".
Don't breathe the air there, we can't afford the CIP to fix the heating/cooling/circulation and don't park in a pothole! And don't try to get a librarian. You want to get rid of em.
What is Barry playing the rusty library card holder?
Gotta be nasty even when it's a fun topic, don't you.
Some have nothing constructive to add to the conversation, so they must ridicule, name-call and toss half-tuths just to stir things up. Sadly its done quite often on this blog.
Hoyle, well done. Well done indeed.
Great night at the library! A lot of fun! Everyone did an excellent job! It's good to see the community come together at events like these.
I agree. Library staff was devastated by the announcement that the Director's contract would not be renewed. Denise showed herself as the class act she is last night. It was nice to have some goodnatured fun.
I am so glad I didn't see that play, I'd rather just give library 100 dollars. Your egos are huge.
To anonymous 12:09: And you're mean spirited!
You guys sling nasty stuff and can't take one criticism? Please.Yeah. yeah.
To 1209PM...If you are really serious, send your check to:

There are a few people here who seem to hate everyone and everything.
Diane Gilbert has run a negative campaign. Most of you bloggers have denied it. In it's so- called endorsement today, the S-T said this about Diane:
"We are not blind to Gilbert's caustic manner. Indeed, Gilbert could have lost our endorsement with her apparently baseless allegation that Stone made a deal with Robert Miller, formerly their opponent in a three-way race, that he would drop out and throw his support behind Stone if she pushed to reinstate Gagne. Making such accusations without evidence is irresponsible."
Just what we've all been saying all along.............
Key word: "ENDORSEMENT."
What I find interesting is that so many of you comment that Diane is running a negative campaign.
Can we assume that Stone supporters are not being equally or even more vicious in their characterization of Diane? I guess "negative campaigning" takes on a different meaning when it comes from the opposing side.
If you say that it is not the Stone supporters who are doing the negative posting, then you'd better find out who is and stop them. Even if it a "neutral" voter, he/she is not helping Ms. Stone's "soft" image any.
Unfortunately, for the Stone campaign, many people are likely to make the reasonable assumption it is you all that are doing the vicious blogging.
Nice bunch of people she has on her side.
Ok, boots, start walkin'. Let the posts begin. It's Stone time to respond, now, and kick Diane all around.
It would be nice on the last week of the campaign that we could have blogosphere silence. Hasn't everything already been said 1000x? Has it changed one mind or vote? No. Believe me, I am the first to try and take my own advice. Have a great Easter, everybody. Let's hunt for eggs, rather than throw them.
It does amaze and baffle me that the public decries 'negative campaigning'. 'Why do the politicians and their supporters need to be so negative,' 'I hate politics because it is so negative, no one gets their message delivered or engages in constructive debate because they are too busy slamming one another.' Well fellow bloggers, lets consider the two races currently in progress. Which will drive people to the poll. Which gets 90% of the play in these blogs and in the newspaper. Where is the reward for a positive campaign? What would the turnout be if only the Carney/Gracie/Watson race was being determined? The truth is we might commend the three for their positive campaigns, if we have even paid attention to their candidacy. How unfortunate. But bloggers don't decry the negative if you only trade in negative posts. You, we, have become the reason and the source. Please study the candidates and vote on April 7th.
Let's not forget the other campaigns that also have run an issue based strategy. It is easy to focus on the negatives but it is not all negative on the campaign trail. Think about the other races that can't get the level of press as some of the others. They all work hard to get their messages out and yet we talk little about them. We still have a little over a week to rectify that!
I have studied the other races. Joe Toomey for Planning Board. Gillian Lake for Park Board. The other races are uncontested. I have also researched my precinct's town meeting members. I hope everyone will do the same.
There is one other race that is contested, the school committee race. I will be voting for change there too, Jones.
