Curt Brown has a post at his blog about plans for an override question on the November ballot. The Select Board has not discussed an override except for a passing reference by the Executive Administrator that such a question has allowed to be placed on the ballot. Several School Committee members ...
... have indicated that they would not support such a move. See Phil Lenz's blog here. Judging from the thoroughly unscientific poll on this blog, it would not seem to have enough support to pass. Raising taxes during an economic downturn is always tough to do.

If this information remains true regarding SC members, then BRAVO to them. Enough is enough.
Maybe, just maybe the SC is getting the point. NO ! Now if only we could get the SC to understand to stop asking for more. The voters have spoken. Work with what you have been given like everyone else.
Why is M.Gagne asking for this, when the SC has not even endorsed it! The SB should direct M.Gagne to STOP pushing this! Unfortunately, we can not vote Gagne out!
Read the article its not gagne its michaud pushing it. havent heard gagne name mentioned anywhere
Reading Bill's blog here, it says that the Executive Admin. made a passing reference to an override. After reading Curt's blog, S.McDonald says it was Joe Michaud who called him about this.FORGET IT!
Still hollaring I see.
I think most of the town thinks this is a bad idea. All you have to do is look at the last two votes!
I guess we'll see what happens at town meeting regarding our funds...or lack of, I should say! The next few years will be difficult ones for Dartmouth. We need leaders who will be able to make the unpopular decisions so that we might return to fiscal health.
Taking money from the Reserve Fund and hoping that an override passes in the fall is not a good idea. I know it's painful, but we need to live within our means, and that includes the schools!
Maybe the leaders at the schools will budget more for textbooks next time. It's all about priorities.
Is is considered "hollaring" simply because you do not agree with the point? Just curious.
Not at all anonymous - hollaring in the context of these blogs is usually signaled by the use of all capital letters. Used by some here to shout down other, dissenting opinions.
nd mom seems to hollar a lot and use lots of exclamation marks which also indicates that she wants to be heard above all others. When I learned to write quite some time ago I was taught that the use of capital letters and the overuse of some punctuation marks actually detract from the point the writer is trying to make.
Capital letters and exclamation marks get attention. I got yours.
Mission accomplished. You do not have to agree with the message.
(Didn't use any here, don't want to offend you)
Let's move on to more important issues.
