Operation Yellow Blitz

Dartmouth police and the Registry of Motor Vehicles are targeting drivers who pass school busses with their red lights flashing. Curt Brown's blog post about the project can be found here.

For the kid's sake, don't pass a bus with the lights flashing.

As it relates to operation yellow blitz. While traveling along Chase Road, I became backed up in a long line of vehicles behind a yellow school bus. The school bus was followed by a Dartmouth police vehicle. Even the school bus operator was following the speed limits. The school bus, every two hundred yards, made several stops when a vehicle traveling from the opposite direction, failed to stop while the school bus was stopped and the red lights flashing. The police vehicle made a quick turn and pursuit the violator.
Finally, the school bus driver pulled over to the edge of the road, allowing the vehicles to pass. The first vehicle allowed to pass is a white town of Dartmouth water department pick up truck, identification number W-25. This truck quickly hitting a speed of 55 to 60mph. I stopped by the side of the road and while attempting to open my door, a yellow school bus narrowly missed hitting my side door. I don't claim to understand this world, but while the police officer was filling out a citation, the yellow school bus operator, and other vehicles must have felt that this is a good time to make up time. Go figure!

Isn't one of the rules of road safety is to open your door with caution due to oncoming traffic. I think the fault lies with thee.

Maybe this is me talking nonsense, but it seems like Google isn't a company run strictly by the top and they seem to be doing quite well.
