Public option support growing

A grassroots effort to get the public option included in a health care reform bill is helping to create support among legislators. TPM reports Senator Inouye of Hawaii has become the 23rd Senator to endorse the idea. One hundred and eight one members of the House have also expressed support. You can read the letter asking the leadership to include the public option here. A list of the Senators that ...

... have pledged support can be found here.
Our Senator Kerry is on board but as of yet, Senator Brown has not signed on.
You can call or fax his office. I could not find an email for Senator Brown at the Senate website but his office phone number is 202-224-4543. If you call outside of office hours, you can leave a message. You can fax his office at 202-228-2646.

Give it up already! 58% of the American people do not want this healthcare package. Let's focus on jobs first then see if we can develop a more meaningful health care reform.

what are you people afraid of with the public option? if the gov is so incompetent than no one will choose
it.

Let's focus on JOBS? if health care wasn't so expensive than businesses could actually hire someone.

Health care is quickly becoming the monster that can't be tamed - 1/7th of the entire US economy.

With all due respect to dartmouth republicans and independent conservatives who may be SCREAMING about reconcilliation for healthcare. The republicans USED IT MORE OFTEN than either party over the last 25 years....

why are you guys so hypocritical.

Tort reform IS part of the SENATE bill, but tort reform ISNT the major problem.

FDR said it best, judeg me by my enemies"....health insurance companies have fought VERY hard against reform. Banks have fought VERY hard against more regulations.

IF that is any indication what type of President we have...he has my vote in 2012

JOHN Q.- Can't you walk and chew gum at the time! I think we can work on both things. Affordable health care is a big part of our economic woes. Let the people decide for themselves. They can choose it or not.

No they can not walk and chew gum at the same time. They just waisted a whole year trying to pass this legislation and it is still not going anywhere. Focus their energies on Job creation. So, "8:16 PM", you think if this healthcare package passes in its current form, we will see immediate job growth? You are delusional. WHo do you think is going to pay for this package anyway? This is a job killer not a creator.

"Reconciliation is a legislative process in the United States Senate intended to allow consideration of a contentious budget bill without the threat of filibuster."

Some how I don't think broad sweeping changes to healthcare fall under a budget bill.

Neither did medicare part D...but the great GOP had no problem using it for that

My God people. I remember people screaming from the tops of their lungs when Bush and the GOP used reconcilliation. Somehow NOW when it is Obama and the Dems you remind everyone how the evil GOP did it.

It was WRONG then and it is WRONG now. Running our government and people's lives should never be a "tit for tat" game.
