ACORN and Lockheed Martin barred from federal contracts?

I love this one! Check out Ryan Martin's article over at the Huffington Post about the bill just passed to defund ACORN. It seems the bill may have been a bit too broadly worded.
Oh well, I can only hope that our military industrial complex would get banned but they have plenty of money for lawyers unlike a loose grouping of community organizers.
ACORN may come out OK too ...

Turns out the whole bill may be a "bill of attainder"

ACORN is a joke. I'm sorry it took so long for everyone to find out about them. Thanks Foxnews.

Yes a loose community organization - SURE BILL I'll buy into that! Hundreds of millions have gone to this loosely knit community organizing group and every time someone does the slightest looking beneath the surface some type of fraud or scandal emerges. Keep their hands off my money, voter registration, census counts and front row seats to the administration.
Loose knot group of community organizers my rear end.

From the article:
The congressional legislation intended to defund ACORN, passed with broad bipartisan support, is written so broadly that it applies to "any organization" that has been charged with breaking federal or state election laws, lobbying disclosure laws, campaign finance laws or filing fraudulent paperwork with any federal or state agency. It also applies to any of the employees, contractors or other folks affiliated with a group charged with any of those things.

And these are the very same people we are entrusting to write new legislation that governs every aspect of our health care. A sad commentary on our leadership and another reason for them to keep their hands off.

The republican party can not stand liberal grassroots organizing for OBVIOUS reasons, they are the reason the Obama campaign was so much more organized than the McCain campaign. By targeting ACORN it really puts a black eye on community orgaizing as a whole which is a shame. Community organizations should have the same lobbying power as a b/c b/s or the military industrila complex. At least COMMUNITY ORGANZERS WORK FOR THE PEOPLE rather than for the PROFITEERS

Bill,

Seems things like this can happen with such a simple task (defund ACORN). How can you trust government to get healthcare right?

Basically you can't, you know any healthcare plan will be a disaster, but choose to support it anyway.

It will be my pleasure to cast my vote against you and your Socialist agenda as soon as possible.

Anon 1:33 - Community organizers work for the people?! Not the ACORN variety apparently. They work for themselves whether it's embezzling funds, assisting others in de-frauding YOU and ME - you may be ok with that but I am not. Sorry, but ACORN deserves what it got and it's great fun to watch them try and squirm their way out of this.
So ACORN continuously breaks the law and thereby gives community organizers a black eye but you place the blame on Republicans? This is comedy central after all!
