I guess this is an example of the markets at work

I find these two posts,
http://thinkprogress.org/2011/02/10/chamberleaks-target-families/
and
http://thinkprogress.org/2011/02/10/lobbyists-chamberleaks/
startling and very disturbing.

This is an example of how corporate interests in this country are operating.
I think it should give everyone pause and I hope that our Congress will find a way to regulate or eliminate the influence that corporations have gained in elections following the Citizens United decision from our Supreme Court. The ruling in that case was ...

... that corporations have the same right of free speech as individual citizens, therefore, campaign finance laws limiting their participation were not constitutional.
I think it was a bad decision, wrongly decided. Whether our largely corporately funded representatives will do anything about it remains to be seen.

Corporations are run by people. People have the right to make their case. The courts have got this right.

Let the money flow. I'm looking forward to the beginning of the 2012 election with great expectations that Prez Obama, from the great land of milk and honey, shall become unemployed by the great people of AMERICA. The nice thing about this election is that it's all about Obama. Unless some out of their mind democrat decides to get into the political mix. Obama has his party nomination. My one prediction is this, Obama will have Hillary for his running mate. Remember you heard it from the man.
When you see a flock of want to be prez already bunched up at the starting gates you know they smell blood. The sent of blood is like a political erection, it becomes harder by the day and months until the climax in South Carolina.
Most Americans want a new prez in Washington. We don't gather in mobs and throw stones or gasoline cocktails. We donate money to our candidates. Everyone can join in and become part of a civilized complex set of rules that allow the American people to elect a new prez. I just love this country and give thanks to all the people who paid the ultimate price to keep the great American system alive.
I do not own a corporation, but I have one thousand smackers for the person I believe can get America back on the road to recovery. We need jobs. People want to work, well most people want to work. We need a fair health system that is geared to prevention and curing, along with providing reasonable care for all Americans. People born with pre condition should never be denied health care. This is America and we care. Don't force people to buy into health care, make it a choice.

I am all for corporations. Once they decide to free up the cash they have been holding due to the Obama administration policies or the fear of it, jobs will start flowing.

There is a simple reason why corporations are not spending. There is little to spend it on that will likely produce a reasonable ROI. The economy stinks. People are not spending. Does anyone seriously believe that there is a long list of places to spend money that will produce a satisfactory return in the US? This has nothing to do with whoever is currently in office in Washington or Boston or anywhere else. The only economy that is producing a good return is China. Why? Because of long term investments by corporations to take jobs and production there. Of course, the Bush administration helped fuel this by pushing through tax breaks as incentive to close plants in the US and take those jobs and investment capital to China.

I am a happy Dartmouth tax payer. I enjoy the services provided to my town. Three separate fire departments I don't understand why because Dartmouth is one town. I've never needed to call the fire department but from what I can see they appeared to be dedicated voluntary men/women that do a much better job than a full time fire department.
I enjoy watching the selectmen conduct town business on Monday nights. This is a nice bunch of dedicated people who want to serve the town. I don't have children but want to pay for well educated students. I feel the D H S band is something else. What a great group of students. I enjoy walking into town hall and met by friendly employee's. I'm proud of the D P W workers who spend a lot of time clearing the streets of snow and sand and ice during the late afternoon. I'm proud of our police department. The new chief seems nice enough and taking the town into the 21st century. I'm not a rich person but feel that I can certainly pay an additional 10 dollars per week to keep our town services. A 500 dollar increase is not too much and it will keep our town fiscal budgets above water. I can believe Dartmouth home owners can afford the extra money. An additional 500 hundred dollars per year would equal a lot of money include the paving of all our town roads, fix our schools, increase our police force, better equipment for the fire departments, more services provided to our seniors. Most if not all townies can afford to pay the extra money.

I have a few hundred thousand dollars sitting in three separate banks collecting .05 percent interest. As long as the Obama socialist administration agenda is in control, I'll hang onto my money. If Obama loses, I start investigating my money. I lost a lot of money during the Carter years and I don't seem to notice any difference between Carter or Obama.
The left wing extremist are turning our country into a socialist for of government. I've been told that our country has 40,000,000 million hunters who own a gun or two. This is the largest group of armed American men on the planet. The old guys who formed the constitution surely knew what they were doing when adopting the second amendment.
We are a young country with a debt of 14.5 trillion dollars. I didn't cause this debt. You didn't cause this debt. Who in hell do you think caused all this debt that our grandchildren will be left to pay??History will not speak kindly of me or you and the leaders of this twenty/twenty first century.
