Great! maybe he can explain his role in the mortgage meltdown that currently plagues our country. As Chair of the Financial Services Committee he may have some keen insight to share about how he threatened lenders who didn't make loans to people who couldn't afford them by accusing them of racist lending policies and then when the loans were made guaranteeing them with your tax dollars through Fannie Mae where his paramour du jour worked. Oh yeah thats right its all the Bush Administrations fault, I forgot.

Now based on his success with that he wants to lead us down the road to government controlled health care from the same people who brought us Social Security, Medicare and all the other successful government programs.

by the people you mean Democrats...the New Deal, we are also the party that mandated a 40 hour work week, minimum wage laws, unemployment insurance..thank God for unemployment insurance during times like these or the mortgage crisis would be alot larger than it is right now. Thank God we have labor laws and civil rights. Those liberals back then fought for equal rights among women, black, white and hispanic.

I heard there is a rally against Mr. Frank at this meeting. They better hire more policeman to keep the order. Otherwise I would recommend everyone stay home.

He is not worth it anyway.

I heard the same thing. I know quite a few people planning on going to challenge Mr. Frank.

Oh, that is a great idea! I'll be there too.

Thanks Barney for the Mortgage crisis! He is another one that has to go.

I am asking that all conservatives in Dartmouth go to this meeting and challenge this blowhard.

Did anyone see Dr. Friedman's letter in the standard times today? Spot on!

I am so glad this guy leads the finance committee in town. Thank god it's not some whining liberal.

To Ray Medeiros Jr.

You seem to be unaware that it was Republicans that worked with Kennedy and Johnson to bring about Civil Rights legislation over the objections of entrenched Democrats.

Unfortunately we have gone past the original laudable goal of fairness and replaced it with unfairness in favor of selected groups.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

Robert F Kennedy was the leader of the civil rights movement inside Washington, he advised his brother Jack on this issue. Let's not forget Nixon believed abortion should be allowed in cases of a black and a white getting pregnant. What about all the other achievments I mentioned. Democrats are the leaders of the safety net that has saved many people from bankruptcy and foreclosure...They also fought for fair and equitable working conditions..Democrats were always for the EMPLOYEE and that is how the middle class grew 3 fold over the course decades of democratic leadership. Sure some may take advantage of the safety net..I look at the saefty net as a trampoline, it saves you from a fall but it is supposed to also help you get back up on your feet.

Anonymous said...

The problem Ray is that the Safety net has transformed itself into a hammock. When poverty is subsidized, it causes more poverty. Equal opportunity has been distorted into reverse discrimination. Supporting workers rights has morphed into a class warfare which seeks to redistribute wealth.

I am all for fairness for everyone; but the politics of division orchestrated by your Democrat Party are destructive.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

welfare does have alot of issues, the rest of the social programs do more good than hard
(soc sec, unemployment, medicaid and medicare)with the healthcare issue I believe that if our politicians want us to use the public plan they should be the first in line to sign themselves and their families up for it. My other issue is the Cobra gap..there needs to be a cheaper way for workers to bridge the gap in insurance between jobs , perhaps make it similar to unemployment insurance.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

As for politics of division, BOTH PARTIES are to blame. I remember eight years of divisivness caused by many in the GOP and the Bush Administration. The GOP is no less divisive than any other party.

Barney Frank should live for ever.....IN HELL.

look at the time stamps on the first few posts....hmmm i think that is the same guy....hmmm

who got Barney Frank to come to Dartmouth?

Anonymous said...

Ray, I do not like Bush; but can you give an example of him being divisive? I had problems with him and it was his willingness to sell out principle to be bipartisan (no child left behind—almost written by Ted Kennedy), prescription drugs etc… The divisiveness came from Democrats continuously attacking him. If you can cite some examples of Bush being divisive, I am listening.

I agree with anon 4:28, one of Bush's downfall was because he was too nice. I have a personal close friend who has been a Presidential secret service agent for the last twenty years and it is very interesting to hear from his perspective what he thinks of the character of the recent Presidents. George Bush Senior - Very nice, Professional,Loves to chat--Bill Clinton - reserved, impatient, very demanding, would not hesitate to demean a fellow agent -- George W. Bush - respectful, would go out of his way to say good morning or hello to anyone he could, appreciated their service, loved to talk, genuine --- Mr. Obama - although it is early in his admin. My friend considers him a nice guy, but a little pompous, less professional - -as far the current chief of staff - he can't stand him.

He may not have been divisive personally, but his policies certainly were. Everything from the war in Iraq to labor his policies were very divisive. He was a party line President.

I didnt even know we had a Democratic Town Committee. Who from the Democratic Town Committee coordinated this?

Who did arrange for Congressman Frank to attend the Dartmouth DTC meeting? Regardless what political party you are a member of any time you can get a high ranking political official to attend a local political town committee meeting you have done a good job.

If anyone plans to challenge Congressman Frank on certain issues my advice is you better be prepared. He is not called the smartest man in Congress for nothing.

By the why George Bush never needed to be divisive. He let VP Cheney and Cheney’s Chief of Staff Scooter Libby do it for him. The one glaring example of this was the outing of uncover CIA agent Valerie Plame. If treason is not divisive I do not know what is.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

I contacted congressman Frank around the 21st of July because I believe alot of people here in Dartmouth and Greater New Bedford have alot of questions about this huge endeavour concerning healthcare, including myself. I thought it would be in the best interest of the area that I invite Congressman Frank to attend one of my Dartmouth DTC meetings with out the filter of the media so we can have an informative discussion with one of the main ochestrators of this bill.

Barney Frank tried to blame Republican governors in Massachusetts for its problems. See the standard times today. (16 years of Republican governors) What a joke. Someone let Barney know the state legislature is 90% democratic and has been for years. That is a veto proof majority congressman.

Anonymous said...

Well Mitt Romney decided to "try" and balance a budget by differing the cost of paying state employee off of the operating expenditures and paid them with BONDS...are you kidding me HIGH INTEREST BONDS to pay for state employee..thank God Gov Patrick is trying to move that back to where it's supposed to be...Mitt Romney's Slight of hand HURT MASSACHUSETTS

Anonymous said...

3:39 needs to find a new source of news (other than moveon.org). Libby did not out plame. He was found to have misled investigators on issues not material to the case. Remember that the "outing" of plame was confirmed to have been a non-deliberate act and that she and her husband were known to brag about her position. But hey, why let the facts get in the way?

Again.. Didn't the house and senate state democrats aprove the Romney healthcare revisions. MA has been in democratic control for decades. Like it or not, the state legislature is dominated by democrats with majorities strong enough to prevent action by Republican governors. That is the people's will. But don't ever try and blame a Republican in state government for the affairs of the commonwealth. None in the last 16 years have had any real legislative power.

The last time a Republican cared about MY HEALTH was when I was in the womb...after that..YOU ARE FORGOTTEN

Anonymous said...

yeah those damn republicans sticking up for those fetus that can't yet speak for themselves.
It's ok though with B.A.'s plan we can all pay to rid the world of that many more and not have to worry about burdening the parents with something as crass as a bill for services.

Anonymous said...

Aain, thank you for making my point..Republicans ONLY care about the unborn..what about those who are born and do not have access to medical services. I am pro life..but i also see the need to take care of those who ARE NOT ABORTED..the Republicans ONLY care about the UNBORN

Anonymous said...

10:27. I am a Republican. I agree with your point of view. I suspect many more do as well. Take care of the unborn, and provide assistance when they are born. My party is wrong on many social issues. They want you to have the baby, then rely on individuals who cannot pay for the child. They focus on respnsibility, yet haven't understood that some people need assistance. I am sure someone will follow this post and say they shouldn't have a child. I would say: Think about how much that will cost to patrol every bedroom.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

Alot of Adults work extremely hard to pull there own weight and can only afford insurance for themselves and not a family plan, like I said in my accidental anon.post 10:27(because I forgot to sign in) children are extremely vulnerable. Children and the elderly are the to demographics that need the most help from social programs. I also think the health care reform bill would be better received if we eliminated the Abortions portions of the bill.(now I say I am pro-life, but I feel there are extreme circumstances were abortion should be permitted).if a woman is assaulted she should have a place to go to get the morning after pill..also I cases that save the mother's life if the pregnancy is endangering her life especially if she has older children she needs to care for. ABORTION should NOT a CONVEINENCE issue.

Ray, can anyone go to this Frank meeting, or do you have to register? I am unenrolled.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

Anybody can go..I have made this an open meeting because this toic transcends political affiliation as we know. MY hope was to get a cross section of people there, from those in favor, oppose and those who may be on the fence. It is intended to be an informational meeting.

Ray Medeiros,Jr said...

I do have to cut the limit of attendees to 100 due to fire code, I ask those who may want to attend to show up early, approx. 15-20 minutes should suffice.

Anonymous said...

Ya gotta love the vast, unfounded geralizations on this blog. Republican? You only care for the unborn and to hell with the rest. Absolute nonsense.
An entire country reliant on a welfare state cannot stand for long. Provide a better safety net for those who truly cannot provide for themselves but that safety net should not include every Tom Dick and Harry who figures their health, safety and welfare is someone elses responsibility.

Thank you everyone who made the food drive a success. We collected well over 400 items for the food pantry at the COA. A variety of goods ranging from baby food to soy milk were generously given. I would like to thank the VFW post, the Burgo Basketball Assoc and the Council on Aging for volunteering their property as a Drop-off point through out the month without them this drive wouldn't have been successful

Do you know what it takes to become a fetus? The male sperm (K/Y) begins it's journey in what can only be described as a up hill fight for life. The chances of entering the female egg is almost impossible at best. I could say 10 billion to one. After all that struggling to get inside the egg, some female decided to abort you. After all the fighting, struggling to become a fetus, your gone in no time at all. I've witnessed a new born babies struggle to live, but died. I've witnessed new born babies that should have died, but lived. In each of the above mention babies, not one gave up it's fight to life.
I've seen many dead people. Everyone who has lived a life, must die. The person who died after living a full life has the look of a dead person. The eyes are open but the life is gone. They all have the same look in their eyes. A new born baby who died before having the chance to live, is something you want to see, their eye's are that of a baby, sleeping.

Ray,
you need to get a life. Getting high profile politicians is not a big deal. First of all Democrats are on their way out, why don't you crawl under a rock a be quiet
