I don't know what to make of this finding by UMass Dartmouth researchers.
Here's the story from the Fall River Herald News

At the turn of the 20th sentry, cocaine was legal. Coke a cola was laced with cocaine. Legalize cocaine and allow the people to make choices. Anyone/everyone can purchase cocaine, so stop all this foolishness. Listen to Billy Mayes, it's good for you, why not buy my product.
its not hard to understand. cocaine gets on the bills many ways not just sniffing it. Say you use a dollar bill to sniff your coke. then run it thru a money counting machine at the bank. All the money that follows your dollar gets cocaine residue on it. there are many reasons.
The societal effects of our war on drugs are vast and generally negative. Street gangs, overflowing jails, destabilization of governments nearby and around the world. After 40 years of our war on drugs, we have lost every battle. Here is a link to an interesting approach taken in Portugal which seems to have worked for them. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=portugal-drug-decriminalization
I'm sensitive to the bad effects of drug use on people, I'm just not sure that many of the effects that our society undergoes are not self inflicted. I'm for treatment and rehabilitation over criminalization and incarceration
