Blue Mass Group has some details on the stimulus bill funding that may be headed to Massachusetts. Medicaid and education will get a big boost. Other details will be coming out as the funds are apportioned. While some have critized the specific ...
...programs that were included, I think the stimulus is the right thing right now. The question to me comes down to, "What is the alternative?".

Stimulus is needed, but not in this form.
This is a dog. There should have been more tax cuts for small business owners and corporations. They are the ones who truly create the significant jobs in this country. A give away of $500 - $1000 to folks will feel good for a while but i'm sure these people would rather land a long term job so they can support their families. Some of the spending in this bill is good, but there is alot of unnecessary spending that will not generate jobs or stimulate the economy. Infrastructure is good, that will be far reaching to alot of secondary suppliers in the private sector. More has to be done in the housing sector though. I was hoping for a mandate for a fixed interest rate say about 4.5%, 30 yr. so everyone can refinance and stay in their homes and the banks can still make money. Credit has to start opening up. Energy investment is good, unemployment security extension is good. Giving checks to people who don't pay any taxes is not smart. Again, create jobs so those same people can work and pay taxes like everyone else. Spending this much money at one time leaves it open for corruption becasue we do not have the resources or administrative support to handle it so alot of it will go unaccounted for. The President will be a hero or a goat on this one depending where we are in a couple of years. God help us all.
well said.
its great if you like pork.
yep the same kind of pork all those Republicans required to pass the first Bailout for the Banks. Remember??
I'm self-employed. Where's MY bailout?
to 5:24 - was'nt it our friend, the democrat, barney Frank that pushed the first stimulus? Now he says it was a bad thing becasue it did not have any controls on how the money got spent? Please spare me the Repub/Dem nonsense. There's blame enough to go round to all of our illustrious 'leaders' donkey or elephant.
