Proposed Town Website Guidelines

The Select Board and Executive Adminstrator have asked the library department to assist in improving the town website. To that end, the library formed a Website Development Committee which has recommneded a policy guideline for the town's website. The cover letter from the library and policy statement can be found here.
I think that the committee has done a good job ...

... and I commend them for their efforts.
Although it is not on the agenda for Monday if the opportunity arises for discussion of and adoption of the guideline, I will bring it before the Select Board. If not, then I will ask that it be on the next meetings agenda.

You can't be serious! You don't care a lick about Dartmouth's youth, but you feel compelled to go to this meeting. I am truly sick to my stomach.

So was I after hearing Mr. Lee was posting nude photos of children.

I guess that's why they call it a witch hunt.

It is Mr. Lee that has tried to portray this as a witch hunt. Nobody has accused him of anything more than poor judgement but yet he won't go before the board to discuss it in open or closed session. He will only discuss it with the Youth Commission because Gagne's wife is on it and she owes him a political favor. Mr Lee calls the press because he wants to blow this out of proportion and spin it into a witch hunt. He is really coming across as a pathetic figure. I agree that posting a naked child on the internet shows poor judgement, especially from a youth advocate!

I guess the fact that Mr. Lee is going to these lengths in an attempt to save his job really blows the theory that some town employees are not overpaid right out of the water.

Great idea. The town should adopt a policy for the town website. With guidelines in place, the town residents won't have to worry about anything inappropriate on any of it's websites.

I told you this issue will be the most contentious.

The issue is simple. If you look at it from a negative perspective, he is held in a bad light and posted these pictures inappropriately.
If you look at it from a positive perspective, he was just posting a loving picture of his grandson and young girls having fun.

It is the viewer who paints this in either direction. So if you are looking to smear Mr.Lee then you take the negative approach.

No, I would come to the conclusion that bad judgement was used by anyone , especially a youth advocate, who posts pictures of a naked child on the internet with a link to a municipal web site. I have nothing personal against Mr. Lee and never have.

Anyone who says Diane Gilbert's intent was not to smear Kevin Lee either does not know Gilbert or, at best, is being disingenuous. This is what Gilbert is best at.

Lara stone's smear campaign continues. Isn't it nice that we now have a group in town that wants to bring the nasty presidential type campaign tactics into play. I'm glad Diane Gilbert is taking the high road.

To anon 2/23 6:53pm, After reading your post...how simple it is...so are you saying that the DA took a negative approach? Or was it, better to be safe than sorry?
I do not know Mr. Lee.He is probably a good counselor and a nice guy, but I have to leave this one up to the DA.

Did anyone else notice that the Kevin Lee supporters last night looked like the who's who of the Stone campaign? These are the radical, elite liberals in town.
