Chutzpah is the title of Jack Spillane's blog post on Mr. Gagne. Link to the post here. Looks like Mr. Spillane doesn't get many comments on his blog or he chooses not to allow them. Don't know which. In any case, he seems to be a more active blogger than Curt Brown. Check it out.

THANK YOU, MR. SPILLANE!
Oh well Bill, it did not have to go this way. As described many times early in this sage only the lawyers will benefit from this case. Too bad.
No, it did not have to end this way. But Mr. Gagne was not entirely blameless in this, either.
It did have to end this way for one simply reason. All the people involved with this cover up acted in their own self interests and refused to act in the interest of the public good. Public service whether as a elected official or employee is an honor and these people should be ashamed.
The courts will ultimately do the right thing and throw out every secret contract. Just like we voters threw out Miller. And Leduc. And Horan McLean. And just like we're going to throw out Carney and Dias.
What I meant was that it could have ended differently if the contract provisions had not been approved by Mr. Gagne, et all, or, since they were, Mr. Gagne could have retained his dignity and integrity and accepted responsibility for this irresponsible decision on his part that will continue to burden our town for years to come.
VOTERS' SCORECARD ON THE FIVE SELECT BOARD MEMBERS WHO SOLD OUT OUR TOWN:
Bob Miller - THROWN OUT OF OFFICE
Jreck LeDuc - THROWN OUT OF OFFICE
Kathleen Horan-McLean - THROWN OUT OF OFFICE
Bob "Wake me when they start talking about the Pasky" Carney - POLITICALLY DEAD (caught asleep)
Nathalie "I promise I wasn't there" Dias - POLITICALLY DEAD (caught in a lie)
There is a price to pay for selling out your town.
Such a pleasant place to disagree without being disagreeable. What's a lawyer get paid these days? $200-$300/hour?
Did not have to go this way.
What's done is done, unfortunately, and we are reaping the repercussions of Mr. Gagne, et all. Remember, though, it was Ms. Copley who initiated this financial mess we are in. SHE needed protection.
BUT---Mr. Gagne loves Dartmouth. That's why he decided to sue it.
Oh, yes. you can't sue property and Dartmouth is, after all, just land. But you can sue people.
We, the people.
.......And let us not forget that it was NAT DIAS who encouraged Mr. Gagne to sue us. What a leader, fighting for her town. This time she cannot successfully deny what she said because she said it on TV.
Mr. Gagne loves dartmouth. More than can be said for most on this blot.
He may love Dartmouth, but he loves himself more!
I wish Mr. Gagne good luck. Dartmouth needs to move forward and look at new ways to provide services. I also agree that the sweetheart contracts need to be addressed and dealt with one way or another!
We need to move forward!
I am still plaanning to boot Gilbert! So to each their own. I think she has done more harm than good even counting the contracts! Today most employees are at will, back then there needed to be justification in writing for cause in Industry or else there could be problems. How can you have 5 bosses with nothing in writing. Every boss has their own opinion. Good Luck
I also want to boot out Diane Gilbert. Watching her makes me uncomfortable and kind of ashamed to live in Dartmouth. I had the same feeling about the person Bill Trimble defeated last year.
I also want to get to the heart of the contracts and make sure the Select Board addresses the improer acts of a few. I will give Gilbert credit for bringing up that issue
If you ever met Jack Spillane I am sure you would come away with a different opinion. Royko wanna-be.
