Short answers to rumors

"No."
Mr. Steve Sharek's response when asked if he would be the next Dartmouth Executive Administrator. See Curt Brown's blog post here.

What other rumors would you like to get a short answer for? Let us know in comments.

So much for the rumors and innuendo put forth by the old boy network.

Is it true you only have to pay your taxes if you get asked to be a Cabinet Secretary in the Obama administration?

Anonymous said...

Yes.
Unless you are a corporation, then you move your headquarters to Dubai and don't ever pay them.

Thank you, I'm sending for my refund now.

Steve, Thank you for your service to the town. The rumor mills will never stop! Thanks for making your feelings public once and for all!

Steve's comments didn't matter..MGL states that a selectman moderator or any other elected office cannot serve as EXEC. ADMIN. without first giving up his seat 6 months prior to accepting the position

The only rumor left to quell is Bob Carney's statement at a public Select Board meeting that Diane Gilbert wants the job.

This is stupid, he would never be qualified and would be a mini Pope, Napolean?

I'm not one for rumors, but this rumor may be true. Back in the 60's,as a result of police information, seven bad guys from Fall River, planned to rob the linoln park proceeds. The act, if put into action, would include the killing of three park employee's. Several Dartmouth, Westport and M.S.Police were waiting in ambush. The police, under direct orders, planned to kill the seven offenders before they committed their deadly act. Can you check the validity of this rumor??
It would make a great story, if true....

Was there another man on the grassy knoll?

Can anybody verify the rumor that Bob Carney is going to make a presentation at the next Select board meeting. Word is it contains constructive input as to how to balance the fy10 budget. Sounds like just another crazy rumor but it is going around.

Bob Carney make a presentation? Now that's some crazy rumour!

If it's anything like his "plan" when he read a 'to do' list of 30 or so items...I can't wait! Bob Carney is all about: let's keep everything the same, Everything is going along great! Things aren't so bad! Dartmouth is doing just fine!
Rip Van Winkle just woke up and missed the fiscal melt down...zzzzzz

Let's be nice people. No personal attacks please. I was just wondering if the Carney presentation rumor was true.

3:58 PM might want to look more carefully at MGL Chapter 268A, the State Conflict of Interest Law, which contains no such restriction and would appear not to prohibit such an appointment. There are also numerous Advisory Opinions on the State Ethics Commission website for review.

I guess nobody asked the more proper question; would he be interested in being Mayor of Dartmouth?

Anonymous said...

Mayor is even more far fetched. Dartmouth will have to go through a lengthy process to get to that stage. If Saul, Ray & Carney hadn't wasted everyone's time with that ridiculous recall, they could have used that effort towards charter revision instead. Of course that would have meant they actually cared about the town more than a decision they didn't happen to agree with.

to 6:56 My, my, you seem angry and disturbed. Your post indicates that you are pro-override. Behaviour like your postings will only turn people away from your pro tax positions. Didn't your mother teach you to say please when you ask for money?

MICHAUD TRIMBLE AND GILBERT are all ANTI PENSION..They were endorsed by the CFRG..I wonder who on the CFRG collects a pension.

Can someone get Saul (see post above) to get some counseling?

Yes, very disturbing.
