Ever wonder what has been sprayed on your food or worried about produce from far off places? You can find a lot of locally produced foods that are better tasting, fresher and better for you.
UMass Dartmouth and local farms have a website for the Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP) which provides information on where to find locally grown or harvested food. They also have information on community supported agriculture and many other things. Check it out here.

Thanks for this post, Bill. Local farmers need all the help they can get. They are a special breed of people. I hope the trustee's of reservations include a program for the Cornell Farm that encourages some younger people to find a way to make a living by farming.
My mother, who is a master gardener for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, runs a community garden where more than 25 families grow vegetables. That may be a worthy use of the Cornell Trust.
No you cannot use any trust land for anything except to let it sit there and make sure my property values remains intact. That land was locked up for NIMBY purposes only!! I do not want any stinkin people poking there noses around my house that's why we locked up that land in the first place. Bill don't you ever mention use of TRUST land again or you'll be voted out so fast your head will spin!!
Anonymous 5:17, I believe you are wrong. Destruction Brook is well used with a parking lot and I believe at least 2 other official access points. In addition I believe when the land was first purchased and before the home sight was sold, the land adjacent to the soon to be parking lot was leased to grow corn. Certainly there will be restrictions on the use of the farm but they revolve around public benefit including recreation and I believe a community farm would fall in line with these public benefits. I have trouble believing you live anywhere near Cornell farm or you would know its neighbors support the land becoming a well used asset to the town residents.
We would probably all be healthier if we bought local, fresh foods. I support local farmers!
