Ms. Gilbert on contracts and open government

Diane Gilbert had a letter in Sunday's Standard Times on the process by which the now infamous employment contracts were made. She advocates for openness...

...and transparency in municipal government. I agree with her that the process was closed and the town suffered for it.

I must admit, I dont usually agree with Ms Gilberts positions, however on this one she is 100% correct. She may just get my vote to get re-elected.

Thanks again for trying to get to the bottom of this ugly situation! People need to know what was going on in this town. I hope the judge rules on Mr. Gagne's contract soon. We need to be done with this so we can move forward.

LOL Three posts by the same person (probably P.M.) over a period of four minutes, and then... nothing. I guess everyone is over at the Lara Stone thread.

When you say P.M. do you mean Barry's Brain?? Ya know like Carl Rove and Bush's Brain?? Is that what you mean?

Thank you Diane. We need you to continue the work being done by the Select Board.

We need Diane to continue what she has started with the contracts. Miller was the ring leader on those and now after running the board and town for 21 years, he wants to come back! No way! Has he no shame!

Diane has had three years to delve into the town's inner workings. We as citizens have also had three years to witness what Diane stands for, what she votes for and against and what direction she thinks the town needs to go. We've had three years to watch her question the issues and do the research. We've had three years to witness her courage to stand against the status quo and be, at times, the only vote out of five in favor of doing the right thing. I say lets give Diane Gilbert three more years to continue her work and the work being done by the Select Board.

I think we're on a role, with three SB members, Diane, Bill, and Joe, all on the same page, committed to the Dartmouth residents, all of them, and committed to question and make accountable those governing our town for their actions, or lack of.

Add Frank to the mix, and we are well on our way to the transparency, accountability, and responsibility that our previous Board assured us we would have (and have yet to fully see.)
